【Summary】
 I work on the search that used image processing without being inclined to a theory in astronomy. Actually, I analyze it with an experience and experience it in that and, besides, experience idea culture / announcement and wear a manner for science.

【Class plan】
 In a study of "a method of education support I used intellectual curiosity, and to bring up the creativeness and originality" about astronomy, I intended for choice earth science V( heavenly phenomena). This subject is an elective subject for faculty of liberal arts three years. The person of study of 2003 was 12 people. A purpose || is not "inclined to a theory, and, in astronomy, work on the search that used image processing". Actually, I analyze it with an experience and experience it in that and, besides, experience idea culture / announcement and wear a manner for science. There is it in a 」 thing. I put an aim in SSH was an elective subject installed from the appointed past, and depending to raise a student of the top in a more highly advanced level letting you experience the scientific interest that a student of a faculty of liberal arts which science liked cannot taste in a lecture through various activity. However, I had taken SSH appointment in this year and wrestled for this subject as a study object to draw interest interest for science more in spite of being an elective subject of a faculty of liberal arts object.
 It is to let you wear you experience what I paid attention to, and increasing an opportunity of learning, posture to solve thought problems by oneself. I show below an annual guidance plan of this subject.

Students have various experiences and wear the basics of scientific research through learning.

The measurement of a honest diameter of the measurement / a crater of a principle / brightness of measurement / CCD of use (a science education program about heavenly phenomena developed in U.S.A.) size of a Hands on Universe curriculum.

An observation experience
The remoteness observation that used observation of sun sunspot, sketching, observation of the sunny place passage of photography / Mercury, Martian observation / Internet astronomical observatory.

An analysis experience from an observation image
Find mass of Jupiter from an image of Jupiter and a satellite and use the sunny place passage of Mercury and pursue one au and find a revolution period of Mercury

●Hypothesis
 At first I experienced it and thought that learning was important to bring up the creativeness and originality of a student. As well as the activity that I did, I observed the highest astronomical observatory of an astronomy study conventionally and tried it therefore to really draw interest for astronomy in what I observed (the lodging training). In addition, I tried that I always had AC generator society with the astronomer who was an astronomical professional to let interest interest last. This forwarded an email from an astronomer with interchange to a student as well as the former lodging training from the day time and I did a lecture by an astronomer and did it. I finally do scientific research by a hand of student oneself, and an aim of this subject is to solve a problem. In other words I thought about a method for a student to increase interest interest actively. Get data ||, that is, in the case of astronomy, most are to do observation with an astronomical telescope. However, it includes various problems that a time problem, unification of observation environment continue observation. Therefore it got environment to observe the continuation that used urgent business and a thought, an Internet astronomical observatory ready to do environmental construction to do continuation observation easily. Self of scientific research was promoted by offering the seat which announced study contents next and stopped and offered a thought, an announcement opportunity of the contents which a student did as much as possible an active voice. Furthermore, I let the seat aimed for a thought, nationwide announcement society when high-level as possible and study it.

【Extracurricular study(Gunma Astronomical Observatory】
●A purpose of the lodging training
 Students understand the heavenly bodies and space by using an exhibition and an institution of a Gunma Astronomical Observatory and Gunma Museum of Natural History, and an experience understands that there is the earth in space. In addition, students understand now how known space image, earth image became generally grasp through an observation experience.
 observation experience with the highly precise telescope which students cannot experience at school, the specimen which can touch it by hand is the highest and, through a lecture of an expert playing an active part, experiences a phone thing directly, and there is it for the purpose of what deepen understanding of space and the earth.

●Schedule
Schedule --- From 12 October Sunday to 13th Monday 
Students with a participation qualification --- Eective subject "Earth science V(Astronomy)12 person of study number of enrolled students(It is really 11 that participated)
Training places --- Gunma Astronomical Observatory, Gunma Museum of Natural History

●Prior learning
Students made a report about a matter to relate to the training in from group to group a visit and lecture contents were deeper, and to be able to understand it and gathered it up as a booklet of the training. The content that I examined is as follows.
"Science of Stonehenge " Jantalmantal" "About characteristic and how to use cooling CCD camera" "About minute light observation of a comet" "The birth of the earth""A system superior planet inquiry"
I do it case if I do observation / imaging to students, and basics knowledge of image processing is necessary. Students used a Hands-On Universe curriculum developed in U.S.A. and learned a method of image processing and the place to mean.

●The training of October 12
We came to a Gunma Astronomical Observatory in the early afternoon. Mr. Hamane(an astronomer, an observation spread researcher) guided an astronomical observatory. We did the training of the following contents which used an exhibition in building.

・About sun telescope image and minute light.
・A difference of an equatorial telescope and the process level and the movement.
・About an observation device of 65cm telescope and 1.5m telescope.
・A class of assembling of a telescope.
・A class of operation and imaging of a telescope for general observation.

We finished the training of afternoon in this and came back to the lodgings for the night training once.
We received training at a Gunma Astronomical Observatory more again from 19:00. We were going to really observe it with a telescope for general observation here, but were not able to observe it for bad weather. If it was fine weather, We should have done the image acquisition for a system superior planet inquiry. It should have been the opportunity that could participate in high school student oneself advanced science, but We were very sorry not to be able to do it. Because such a dangerous degree rose by a short schedule on one day 2nd, I felt it when I should have set it the schedule that had room more.
 We received a lecture from Mr.Hamane to know how an astronomer really pushed forward a study in the night training. This lecture was about "minute light survey observation of a comet" that Mr.Hamane came out in an example of the advanced study that used an institution of an astronomical observatory, and there was.
 We took the next lecture from Mr.Hamane. What kind of thing must we do to do an international advanced study? How through hardships are data used for a study polished things? Furthermore, what do you understand by pushing forward a study? He really showed a state of data analysis after a lecture was over. A voice of admiration leaked out from a student to a good point of the skill. An impression was said to "be the kind eyes which watched his child" by the student. It won through up to my impression.

●The training of October 13
 As for the morning of the second day, we did the training that used an outdoor institution of an astronomical observatory. We had an outdoor institution inform from him here. 13 huge buildings for Indian astronomical observation of Jantal-Mantal are installed in an astronomical observatory. The greatest thing of the inside says Samurat-Yantora and plays a role as a sundial. We were able to know various relation of exercise of the earth, a degree of leaning of the earth's axis for the revolution side, equation of time by heterogeneity of revolution speed earth and the sun from shape of a sundial. Other things were things to observe a position of a planet on ecliptic, and we were able to realize an equator coordinate and a difference of ecliptic coordinates visually.  We resigned an astronomical observatory and, before noon, went to a museum by bus. Therefore we used the various specimens and exhibitions that were installed inside and out of building and learned it about the history of the earth and a relation with space. And I took a lecture of Mr.Takakuwa (a paleontologist, a curator). His lecture was about life evolution and relation with space.
 We learned next at Gunma Museum of Natural History. Thinking about how the earth was formed by the beginning solar system by watching a meteorite specimen. Thinking about I watch a specimen of the strike loma tiger Ito and stripe-shaped iron ore layer, and how the beginning earth became the figure which seems to be the present. Learnning it about outbreak and the development of life by watching an exhibition of a paulownia box sensing an experiment specimen and cosmic rays of a mirror and do it. A fossil specimen was filled up very much and was able to realize the museum about explosive development and variety of life. By a lecture, it was described the mass extinction to repeat itself as well as these contents.
 I observed freedom in building and was assigned to the way home by bus afterwards.

●Learning after the training
The student compiled the content that learned in the training as a report after a thing. A title of a report is as follows. "Avout Jantal-Mantal, Stonehenge" "About an exhibition of a GUnma Astronomical Observatory" "About an observation device of a Gunma Astronomical Observatory" "About a lecture of minute light survey of comet" "About an exhibition of history of Gunma Museum of Natural History" "About lecture of life evolving and space"

●Reflection point
 There was the feeling that I was too greedy for contents and set. When it is the precious lodging training, it is the result that I thought about when I experience a good place as much as possible of a visit, but I pack too much contents by a schedule having a short it, and non-digestion cannot deny the feeling that it has been it the training of one none of. I felt necessity I squeezed more focuses, and to set the contents which kept room in a schedule in future.

【Lecture】
●Lecture "battle front of the heavenly phenomena education that used an Internet astronomical observatory"

 The lecture of the field of heavenly phenomena was done in an evening on February 2 by Mr.Takehiko Satou, An assistant professor of Kumamoto University Department of Education science course of study that was an administration guidance committee. Contents are "battle front of the heavenly phenomena education that used an Internet astronomical observatory". He talked about process of construction of an Internet astronomical observatory, a state of education practice and the first overseas foothold and a Ghanaian Internet astronomical observatory.
 The students who can participate in a lecture are people of earth science V( heavenly phenomena) study of an elective subject. There was participation from the Keio University department of commercial science physics classroom which developed a remote control telescope by Internet elsewhere, Goto optics Institute Co., Ltd.
 In addition, there is the experience that our one operates a Ghanaian Internet astronomical observatory while already receiving guidance of Mr. Sato for his study, and acquired an image of students.
Contents of a lecture are process whether you reached if you think at first to make an Internet astronomical observatory with any kind of process. I write down an abstract of a lecture as follows.
●Construction of an Internet astronomical observatory
 This project began in 1998. He made unit No. 1 in Keio senior high school and made unit No. 2 in Science University of Tokyo Noda campus. He applied for various grants to secure research and development expenses. Because it was changed to Kumamoto University, Mr. Sato secured study costs there in 2002 and installed unit No. 3. Unit No. 1 and unit No. 2 dozens of leave only q, but unit No. 3 can observe Kumamoto because it is around 1000km distant if even cloudiness uses unit No. 1 and unit No. 2. Because density of an Internet astronomical observatory rises, observation is advantageous in that the probability that there is not becomes low.

By Internet astronomical observatory practice in an elementary school, as for me, an earnest look of children was impressive. I moved a Ghanaian astronomical observatory from Japan while teaching it and felt it as follows. "Will this really project starlit sky of the backside of the earth?" I did not get such an actual feeling to me at all. However, it was written in the impression that children wrote after a class in this way "I was glad. Because because it was watched the moon and the Saturn for the first time.” For a student, the joy that the moon and a star were able to watch purely seemed to be big rather than the impression that considered the real condition from Ghana.

●Moving a Ghanaian Internet astronomical observatory
 Mr. Sato really accessed a Ghanaian Internet astronomical observatory next and moved a telescope by real time. He confirmed the Ghanaian weather situation after having introduced the Web page that was user interface and I opened the roof which stored a telescope and operated a telescope. However, we were not able to observe the heavenly bodies in a cloudy sky. However, we were able to really watch serial operation with observation. That accessed a Web page and received the certification and started a telescope, and it was a procedure it chose the heavenly bodies of an aim, and to be able to turn to a telescope there.

Mr. Satou:"Yes. 12 years ago,I finished writing a doctoral dissertation in spring, 1992 and got a degree. For the five years more, I studied astronomy in U.S.A. Meanwhile, I went to Hawaii university for first one year. The researcher who got to know at Hawaii university said. "work together", So I worked 3 years and six month in NASA"
StudentC:"Did you have trouble with words?"
Mr. Satou:"It was an astronomical story that I was English first, and there was talking. Four years later, I get possible to do a chat at a home party. I had a hard time with words very much till then."
Student D:"Was there the plan to make an astronomical observatory besides Ghana?"
Mr.Satou:" I thought whether I would make it in U.S.A. vaguely. However, it was proposed me by Mr. Sakakibara of Shinshu University when you have had better establish an astronomical observatory in Ghana. Therefore I tried to reconsider it. I am to have divided 3 equally when I watched it from directly overhead of the earth in future if I make an astronomical observatory in Japan, Ghana, the American West Coast. I think that it is possible for the astronomical observatory which is not idle of the night where it is when. As the next step, I want to make one more."

●An impression of a student after a lecture
・Way of speaking of Mr. Sato was settled down very much and was easy to hear it. An attitude of his announcement went to audience, and without watching memos, and I admired. When I announced it in an astronomy society Jr. session, I wanted to talk like him well.
・His announcement contained a joke and was happy.
・I felt passion of the making of thing through construction of an Internet astronomical observatory.

●At the end
 Mr. Sato eliminates any cost and pushes forward a study. The student was impressed with his this posture. Some of the student who participated are going to announce it in an astronomy society Jr. session. It looks like the students attended a presentation method of Mr. Sato while observing it. For them, it would be very useful way of speaking of Mr. Sato, to be watching audience well, and to be feeling ther reaction.

●What is an Internet astronomical observatory?

This development began by a joint study of Science University of Tokyo and Keio senior high school in 1998.  I will try to give an advantage of an Internet astronomical observatory. If the use of Internet is possible, you can speak observation of a star somewhere on the earth. For example, observation is possible even if weather of the place where you are is bad, and do not see a star if you use an Internet astronomical observatory in a fine place. Furthermore, you can observe the night heavenly bodies in the day if you use an Internet astronomical observatory of the backside of the earth.When I make a scale small a little more and try to think, that it is possible for observation even if I do not go to a telescope is given.If there is a computer connected to Internet, it is possible for observation even if you do not proceed to a telescope in the point that climbed in inconvenient mountain and a lot of stairs.This enables barrier-free observation and enables promotion of efficiency of time.I give an advantage about promotion of efficiency of time. It is completely unmanned at an Internet astronomical observatory, and there is you assuming managing it. Therefore disassembly of an observation device is basically needless.Therefore you do not have to mind a change of a field of vision corner by an observation environmental difference. In addition, you do not need those adjustment time because you do not need focus laying upon.

However, there are many things which value of a study produces by it continues in a theme of astronomical research activity, and observing it.  Therefore I used an Internet astronomical observatory for continuation observation. An object is a study student of choice earth science V( heavenly phenomena). Students make some groups with this subject and each sets a theme by oneself and can go ahead through a study.
 One group where theme setting was late offered the continuation observation that used an Internet astronomical observatory.A study theme is "which demands a rotation period of the sun from movement of sunspot".I describe it beforehand, but they are not heavenly phenomena enthusiasts. They have not touched it with a telescope before study. They studied choice earth science V( heavenly phenomena). as one in a certain number of they elective subject. One of them sweats by club activities, and one more is to work hard at a part-time job.They are extremely normal high school students.

As for the first day, observation took time, and they were not able to consume lunch, but technology advanced whenever they passed through days and then gets possible to finish observation in around 10 minutes.
 The state that a sunspot moves on a photosphere side day by day appears in the image which was taken by observation.Students used an image printed out and measured a position in a photosphere interview of a sunspot. And they spent the measurement value and converted the center of a photosphere side into 0 ° and latitude amd longitude to do each.And they classed the sunspot which moved in a group and found a movement angle per the 1day.The movement angle becomes a small value than a fact. Because the earth revolves it. They added it and found movement speed on a photosphere side of sun sunspot that is rotation speed of the sun with 15.2 °/ day.A rotation period provided than this numerical value of the sun is 23.7 day.(The details please refer to a report of SSH.)

●An effect by the use of an Internet astronomical observatory
 About 25-30 real rotation periods are days. A found value was a slightly small thing, but succeeded in demanding a rotation period from continuation observation of the sun.It delighted them very much.They were able to get quantity of physics that appeared in a textbook by power of oneself.What continuation observed in the limited time would be impossible if they installed a telescope in the roof without using an Internet astronomical observatory and installed a camera and had to coordinate focus.When they continue and observe it, it is easy to begin the environment that in a short time day after day such as the above and is effective though to raise motivation of a student.
 I write below down an impression of these students who studied it."If there was even a PC, an Internet astronomical observatory could access it somewhere and could observe a star or the planet which we wanted to watch and was very useful for observation of this sun sunspot.A state of a sunspot was projected well, too and understood a change every day well.""We were able to demand a rotation period by movement of the sunspot this time.""I think that it was difficult it continues, and to observe it while comparing adjustment and an image of image photography if I did not use an Internet astronomical observatory."

●Reflection point
 I observed it by this study until December 20 that began winter season suspension of business.I accessed an Internet astronomical observatory afterwards from home, and I started use permission to a student so that additional data were provided, but it was not possible for operation from their home to be instability.I was able to get continuation data to have a long than, since before having begun winter season suspension of business if I advise a student about access from home to an Internet astronomical observatory, but I am sorry without having it realized.
 at those days that I took advantage of by this study, A picture of a camera using an Internet astronomical observatory of Keio senior high school is not so good. Furthermore, there was not still image movie camera ability and could not but capture a display image to get an image for analysis.However, we introduced the STV camera which came out of an animation and a still image by a SSH business in 2003. It was expected that high-resolution still image photography could be compatible with the observation that there was a sense of reality by an animation hereby.In other words an observation object of continuation observation opened more. I want to make use of this advantage for a study of the next fiscal year.

●Importance of announcement in a study

Students observe it, and experience a study and analyze provided data thereby, and to get a conclusion.I made much of it about presentation ability upbringing students made study contents an article as well as it and made an announcement document to reach intelligibly and really announced.Because I think that it is it to the thing which had a meaning only after it become announcement and an article.
In the field of astronomy, "the youth session" which was a place of study announcement of a high school student was established in Japanese astronomy society by a spring annual convention in 2000. Because a place of national study announcement of students was established constantly, They had an aim and was able to prepare it.

●Express one's thought
 It is not easy to speak which they studied so that audience can understand it in spite of being pleasure.and write the contents by one's words. At first students began one's matter that they thought about from an exercise to express by one's words. We used application composition used for primary examination for "Four days when you became an astronomer" that a national astronomical observatory public information spread room raised as this subject.
A high school student stays at a national astronomical observatory of Mitaka in a summer vacation by this program and does it from observation plan drafting to proposal making of telescope use, data handling of an observation result and announcement. In a title to "Be mysterious of the space which I want to know", Students make composition of around 800 characters to participate in this program. Only 16 can pass examination in the whole country.
 For all the study students of choice earth science V, I imposed making of application composition with a theme same as this and quantity of sentence. It is difficult to bring the motive and a background, and to describe one's doubt having with quantity of sentence of this level.To some extent, about the heavenly bodies and a phenomenon of an object, scientific knowledge is necessary. Otherwise a level of this composition becomes low, and with that alone the space is simply it if the explanation is long.
 Students made composition in Microsoft word and let them submit it to an email in form you filed it, and to attach.  I decided to announce a state of this observation and analysis in a youth session only for poster announcement done in Japanese astronomy society fall meeting. Students gathered in several times, a school all over the summer vacation for this announcement and did poster production.Students talked about constitution voluntarily and decided allotment and started production. Because appearance was not so an elaborate thing, they were able to complete a poster comparatively in a short time. ●Hiyoshi festival poster announcement
 Students were divided into a group by 2 and put up a study plan by themselves and were able to go ahead through observation and analysis from the latter period. As a place of intermediate announcement of the study, I used a school festival of Keio senior high school, Hiyoshi festival and exhibited a poster.Because they gathered up that the poster of the Mercury sun aspect passage already went by a class, they were able to make it comparatively easily, but this time must think about development constitution from preparation by themselves and had a hard time till started real production.The students were superior in graphical constitution power.  From a person of study, four students applied for Japan astronomy society spring meeting youth session done in Nagoya University from March 22.  The day before of a youth session did a last announcement exercise in lodging ahead. Students pointed out an improvement point, and even the scene did improvement of an announcement document into the night. I let a document compile content to tell to them, but taught it without watching a document at hand during announcement to announce it while watching reflected picture or audience.

 As a great lesson of a meeting place becomes full on that day. Perhaps I think that it was a session with much audience whom it is reasonable in a meeting place of astronomy society. The atmosphere was able to announce the students while watching audience well without it being swallowed.
 The following impressions were provided from one of the students who participated in a youth session. "Students announce it in front of a high school student and the expert who gathered in a youth session from the whole country. Therefore they seem to have felt worth doing and both responsibility."
 In this way it was it for the incentive that was going to raise quality of their study because being conscious of announcement and a seat of announcement were given. They should have made it better announcement and made an effort.

 It is three of next that showed a comparatively big change with the mean of this score. Astronomical observation, cosmology, search for extraterrestrial. I was able to add to interest of astronomical observation of students, but decrease slightly about photography with it and telescope operation, computer operation whether there is not a change. In contrast, about the progressive contents which used the science that I called cosmology and search for extraterrestrial, they add to interest. I think that I was able to add to their interest for scientific contents than an astronomical telescope as a tool and interest of imaging because themselves studies it.
 But the item which can judge t-examined because there is a little number of the samples, and to be significantly different with probability of α <0.05 as described it first only about search for extraterrestrial. The horoscope that I set as a non-scientific representative was interest degree to be low after a prior thing. Originally it was a low object of interest degree for non-science. About search for extraterrestrial, will not the reason be because an intellectual life body inquiry except the earth is not non-science, and recognition that it is enough scientific contents seeped by learning of a system superior planet at a Gunnma astronomical observatory?
 I was not able to investigate a purpose of choice earth science V such as a study experience and an announcement experience and an item equal enough to, but was able to show a thing when I could increase for interest by an action of choice earth science V about progressive contents.

 At the time of last class, students wrote an impression of the class whole. I give below the some.
Various experiences were good. ・The scale which thought about things by touching astronomy became large.
・There were a lot of things to get. Width of interest became wide deeply. Thanks Astronomy!
・You may have been able to experience various things such as I Gunma astronomical observatory, an Internet astronomical observatory! ! The class with a computer was hard, but observation is pleasant.
・I was full of difficult things and was very happy.
・I was interesting. I think that I was able to take in considerably high contents well.
・You may have been able to experience what you cannot experience by a normal class!

 Evaluation for various experiences to appear quite frequently in an impression of a student expresses this class. I was able to have you feel interest of scientific research while even a student of a faculty of liberal arts of a twelfth grader maintained interest interest by I experienced it, and doing learning and an announcement experience, interchange with a professional researcher. Load hangs in the leader side to experience it to a student.Therefore there is much time to spend. However, the experience that was able to go ahead through a study while making trial and error was valuable while a teacher scolded a student, and encouraging it while sometimes I was made to hurry by a student. I recognize it with impression education and the having the same meaning that Mayor of education support to bring up the creativeness and originality, this private supplementary schools proposes. However, I strongly felt that I was impossible when I regretted time to do it.
I was able to do the making of base of education support to bring up the creativeness and originality of a student by an action of this year. In the next fiscal year, a super science T course of a second grader is founded and I experience it and can offer learning to a student advancing to physical science. Because an observation device is going to be got ready to be able to treat a wider object, a study of the subject which there was in interest of a student is enabled. I want to make an effort to be able to let you encourage students by higher contents.
