PRESENTATION RANKINGS

These rankings are based on students' peer evaluation sheets, and the presentations are not necessarily
evaluated the same way by the instructor of this class. Yet, presentations are not only for the
teacher but also for your audience. And these rankings show how well these people
"communicated" with their audience in their speeches. Congratulations!!! I hope many of you
will appear in these rankings.

SPEECH #2 "SHOW AND TELL" (May 25, 2012)

1. Nakajima (Average Score = 23.44 out of 25.00)
2. Takazawa (23.15)
3. Tanabe (22.74)
4. Mizunuma (21.89)
5. Aoike and Ichijo (Tied with 21.85)

Want to be one of the top five speakers for the next speech (mid-term Speech #3)?
Get the worksheet from keio.jp's Žö‹ÆŽx‰‡ƒTƒCƒg and prepare for it before the next class
on Wednesday! We will learn the details of the third speech with this handout in the next class.

SPEECH #3 "Movie/Book Review" (June 1, 2012)

1. Nakajima (Average Score = 32.48 out of 35.00)
2. Takazawa (31.62)
3. Kodera (31.50)
4. Kubono (31.08)
5. Seki (30.92)

Mr. Nakajima and Ms. Takazawa did it again!
They were selected to be among the top five speakers for Speech #3.
Congratulations! And we have three new comers in the ranking list; Ms. Kodera,
Mr. Kubono, and Ms. Seki. Welcome! Yet, notice that the differences in the scores are
very small (from 30.92-32.48), and this means all their presentations were very good.
They must have rehearsed a lot with a watch, and their physical message was good.
At the same time, these speakers must have used the worksheet carefully for
Speech #3 and prepared the story message (or the content) of their speeches well.
When you look at your speech in the DVD, look at these people's presentations too!
You can learn a lot from good presentations. The class average was 28.29,
which is also a good score. Although Speech #3 is difficult to do due to its
short time limit, Class 15 did a good job!

SPEECH #4 Introduction of Final Speech (June 8, 2012)

1. Seki (Average Score = 27.26 out of 30.00)
2. Kaku (26.04)
3. Tanabe (25.91)
4. Mizunuma (25.48)
5. Ishikawa (25.43)

We have two new comers to the ranking list; Mr. Kaku
and Mr. Ishikawa. Although the preparation time was very short
(only two days!), these top speakers prepared very good posters.
Their physical and story messages were also very good. Congratulations!
Although their names are not written here, there are a couple of students who
were selected to be among the top 10 speakers for the first time. Good!
Keep it up! FYI: Theclass average was 23.7. Note that you can find
the schedule of the presentation section in the annoucement section.
Check it out and manage your time/schedule well, so that ALL of you
will succeed with the final presentations for this course. Good luck!

SPEECH #4 Final Speech Rehearsals (June 13 and 15, 2012)

1. Ichijo (Average Score = 44.9 out of 50.0)
2. Ishikawa (44.7)
3. Tanabe (44.2)
4. Seki (43.8)
5. Nakajima (43.0)

The class average was 41.0, a very high score for the whole class,
and these top speakers did very well with their rehearsals. As you can
see by comparing their scores, it was a very close race.
Mr. Ishikawa, Mr. Tanabe and Ms. Seki did it again, while Mr. Nakajima
and Ms. Ichijo came back to the ranking list. Congratulations to all top five
speakers!! Note that the class average was very high, and, in fact, there were
so many good rehearsals. With more preparation and rehearsals,
it is quite possible for any one to be among the top five speaker for
the final presentation next week.
Since I wrote some comments about these rehearsals in the
annoucement section of our homepage, read them. They
should help you prepare better for your final presentation.

SPEECH #4 Final Speech (June 20 and 22, 2011)

1. Kubono (Average Score = 46.9 out of 50.0)
2. Nakajima (46.7)
3. Ichijo (46.6)
4. Mizunuma (46.3)
5. Kodera (46.2)

The class average was 43.5, a very high score for the whole class again!
Not only these top five speakers but also many students in
this class did a very good job. Congratulations to all of you!
You should be proud of yourself and your class.
Although the presentation section of Study Skill is over,
as I said in class, you will give many presentations in the
future. Remember what you have learned in this class
and continue to give good presentations in the future.
