- You will be given a topic to write a "reason" paragraph without looking at the checklists.
- Review the three checklists on pp. 3-7 of the Handbook.
- You can use your English-English dictionary in this exam.

- The final version of your Paragraph #1 is due. Staple the following and submit them:
- (1) The first draft of Paragraph #1 (P#1)
- (2) The checklists for (1)
- (3) The final version of P#1
- (4) A copy of the checklists on p. 9 of the Handbook.
- Remember to use (4) and check your (3) before you submit it to Mr. Shimura.
- You must use a computer and type (3). Look at p. 18. Remember that our computer rooms at Hiyoshi have computer assistants. You can always ask them questions about the use of computers. Also, your friends may be computer experts!
- Read Chapter 5 of EW and answer the following questions:

- Do not look at your notes when you give your Speech #2 as much as possible, so that you will have eye contact and gestures in Speech #2. If you should need a note, you should have it in your hand, not on the desk.
