サブタイトル: Industry Analysis and Company Strategies
Students will learn to consider company strategies using industry profiles, as well as basic business concepts and the language of the business world. Each student will choose a company operating in Japan in the sector of their choice and conduct research covering designated topics, including stock price change, and company performance. The results of the survey will be presented in two speeches (individual and group, 40%) and the final paper (20%). Reading/writing assignments are planned to prepare students for their research projects (30%). Opportunities for speaking practice will frequently be given in class in the form of discussions (10%). A strict attendance policy will be enforced; virtually no consideration is given to absences caused by extracurricular activities. Students should read the course HP (http://web.hc.keio.ac.jp/~matsuoka/) before each class. This course will be conducted only in English.
