Presentations and Discussion Skills (PCP)

The goal of this course will be to improve oral/aural skills of students in the PCP program. Skills which will be emphasized in this class include note-taking, forming and asking questions, asking critical questions to evaluate an argument, giving formal presentations, and actively participating in group discussions. Essential expressions for professional presentations will be introduced as a warm-up, which is followed by discussing pros and cons of controversial issues. Completing the reading/listening assignments will be essential for this class, since the background material serves as a ground for group discussions. All sessions will be conducted in English.
