PRESENTATION RANKINGS

These rankings are based on students' evaluation sheets, and the presentations are not necessarily
evaluated the same way by the instructor of this class. Yet, presentations are not only for the
teacher but also for your audience. And these rankings show how well these people
"communicated" with their audience in their speeches. Congratulations!!! I hope many of you
will appear in these rankings.

SPEECH #2 "SHOW AND TELL" (May 25, 2018)

1. Ohzono (Average Score = 24.5 out of 25.0!)
2. Arakawa (24.2)
3. Fukui and Mirai (22.4)
5. Natsukari (22.1)

Want to be one of the top five speakers for the next speech (mid-term Speech #3)?
Use the checklist for Speech #3 (pp. 37-38, other supplementary handouts, and the
SS textbook) and rehearse with a watch and physical message a lot. Good luck!

SPEECH #3 "BOOK/MOVIE REVIEW" (June 6, 2017)

1. Arakawa (Score = 34.2 out of 35.0)
2. Ohzono (32.6)
3. Naito (32.4)
4. Shiota and Fukui (tied at 32.0)

Mr. Arakawa, Mr. Ohzono, and Ms. Fukui did it again!
They were selected to be among the top five speakers for Speech #3.
Congratulations! And we have new comers in the ranking list; Mr. Naito and Ms. Shiota.
Welcome! Yet, notice that the differences in the scores are
very small (from 32.0 to 32.6) except for a very high score of 34.2 by Mr. Arakawa,
and this means all their presentations were very good.
These speakers must have used the worksheet for Speech
#3 carefully and prepared the story message (or the content) of their speeches well.
When you look at your speech in the DVD, look at these people's presentations too!
You can learn a lot from good presentations. The class average was 30.8,
which is also a very good score. Although Speech #3 is difficult to do due to its
short time limit, Class I-39 did a good job!
