These rankings are based on students' evaluation sheets, and the presentations
are not necessarily
evaluated the same way by the instructor of this class. Yet, presentations
are not only for the
teacher but also for
your audience. And these rankings show how well these people
"communicated"
with their audience in their speeches. Congratulations!!! I hope many of you
will appear in these rankings.
SPEECH #2 "SHOW AND TELL" (May 26, 2017)

2. Minami (22.6)
3. Kawakubo (22.0)
4. Yoshie (21.8)

Want to be one of the top five speakers for the next speech (mid-term Speech
#3)?
Use the checklist for Speech #3 (pp. 37-38, other supplementary handouts,
and the
SS textbook) and rehearse with a watch and physical message a lot. Good
luck!

1. Ueda (Score = 32.7 out of 35.0)
2. Minami (31.7)
3. Kawakubo (30.8)
4. Yoshie (30.6)
5. Akata (30.4)
Mr. Ueda, Mr. Minami, Mr. Kawakubo, and Ms. Yoshie did it again!
They were selected to be among the top five speakers for Speech #3.
Congratulations! And we have a new comer in the ranking list; Ms. Akata.
Welcome! Yet, notice that the differences in the scores are
very small (from 30.4 to 32.7), and this means all their presentations
were very good.
These speakers must have used the worksheet for Speech
#3 carefully and prepared the story message (or the content) of their speeches well.
When you look at your speech in the DVD, look at these people's presentations too!
You can learn a lot from good presentations. The class average was 29.2,
which is also a very good score. Although Speech #3 is difficult to do
due to its
short time limit, Class I-29 did a good job!
Introduction Section of SPEECH #4 Final Presentation with Five Posters (June 13, 2017)
1. Akata (Score = 26.6 out of 30.0)
2. Seki (26.2)
3. Yamaguchi (26.13)
4. Yagisawa (26.11)
5. Mitsui (25.9)

and Mr. Mitsui. Welcome!
And Mr. Yagisawa made a comeback to the ranking. Welcome back.
Although the preparation time was very short, these top speakers managed
time
well and prepared very good posters. Their physical and story messages
were also good.
Congratulations! Although their names are not written here, there are a
couple of students
who were selected to be among the top 10 speakers for the first time.
FYI: The class average was 23.8.
Note that you can find the schedule of the presentation
section in the annoucement section. Check it out and manage your time/schedule
well, so that
ALL of you will succeed with the final presentations for this course. Good
luck!
