Final Version!

PRESENTATION RANKINGS

These rankings are based on students' peer evaluation sheets, and they are not necessarily
evaluated the same way by the instructor of this class. Yet, presentations are not only for the
teacher but also for your audience. And these rankings show how well these people
"communicated" with their audience in their speeches. Congratulations!!! I hope many of you
will appear in these rankings.

SPEECH #2 "SHOW AND TELL" (May 25, 2011)

1. Fujiwara (Average Score = 23.96 out of 25.00)
2. Sakai (23.88)
3. Tanabe (23.04)
4. Goto (23.00)
5. Aono (22.16)

SPEECH #3 "Movie/Book Review" (June 1, 2011)

1. Sakai (Average Score = 33.15 out of 35.00)
2. Hou (32.59)
3. Fujiwara (32.44)
4. Tanabe (31.93)
5. Goto (30.81)

Ms. Sakai, Mr. Fujiwara, Mr. Tanabe, and Mr. Goto did it again!
They were selected to be among the top five speakers for Speech #3.
Congratulations! And we have a new comer in the ranking list; Mr. Hou.
Welcome! Yet, notice that the differences in the scores are very small,
and this means all their presentations were very good. They must have
rehearsed a lot
with a watch, and their physical message was good. At the same time,
these speakers used the worksheet carefully for Speech #3 and prepared
the story message (or the content) of their speeches well. Once again,
when you look at your speech in the DVD, look at these people's
presentations too! You can learn a lot from good presentations.
The class average was 28.72.

SPEECH #4 Final Speech Rehearsals (June 8 and 10, 2011)

1. Junki (Average Score = 44.4 out of 50.0)
2. Hou (43.2)
3. Sakai (43.1)
4. Tanabe (42.9)
5. Onogi (42.4)

The class average was 38.6, and these top speakers did
very well with their rehearsals. As you can see by
comparing their scores, it was a close race.
Mr. Hou, Ms. Sakai are Mr. Tanabe did it again, and we had
two new comers in the ranking; Junki and Mr. Onogi.
Welcome! Congratulations to all top five speakers!!
NOTE: Although we did not record these rehearsals with
the video camera, Junki, our top spaker, will receive
the DVDs for the final presentations as his prize for
his excellent performance.

SPEECH #4 Final Speech (June 15 and 17, 2011)

1. Fujiwara (Average Score = 47.8 out of 50.0)
2. Sakai (47.2)
3. Tanabe (46.6)
4. Hou (46.0)
5. Junki (45.3)

The class average was 41.4, a very high score for the whole class!
Not only these top five speakers but also many students in
this class did a very good job. Congratulations to all of you!
You should be proud of yourself and your class.
Although the presentation section of Study Skill is over,
as I said in class, you will give many presentations in the
future. Remember what you have learned in this class
and continue to give good presentations in the future.
