Media Studies Period 4 class

1. Be ready to report as groups A, B, and C about chapters 6 and 9. I do not want to spend much class time on this, so please be ready before the class statrts!

2. Vocabulary test: Please make sure that you know the important words used in chapters 1-5. By "important" words, I mean words that you are likely to want to use as well as understand. As well as understanding them and being able to explain their meanings in simple English, you should know how to use them correctly in academic writing. Click here to see the sort of test you will be given. No Japanese will be used.

3. In class, I asked you to look for the differences and similarities between newspaper news and television news, the differences and similarities between the situations described in the book and the situation in Japan, and parts where Peter Wall is less than "objective".

4. Check whether you have access to any English-language news bulletins on your television at home. Be ready to tell me what bulletins you can watch.
