Takeshi NAGASHIMA received his DPhil from University of Sussex in 2002, and is working on the history of public health and policy in modern Japan and Britain. Particular interests are in relationships between urbanisation, the epidemiology of infectious diseases, and the development of public health administration and urban infrastructure such as water supply and sewerage systems.
